Care essentials — remove the fear of killing plants 😅
Buyers worry — we get it. Follow these simple steps and your croton plant will thrive.
- 🌤 Light requirement: Bright, indirect light for the best leaf color. Tolerates moderate light but avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch leaves.
- 💧 Watering frequency: Water when the top 1–2 cm of soil feels dry — typically once every 7–12 days depending on humidity and season. The self-watering pot helps prevent over/under watering.
- 🌡 Temperature tolerance: Prefers 18–28°C (64–82°F). Keep away from cold drafts or temperatures below 15°C.
- 🐾 Pet safety: Cordyline/Croton plants can be mildly toxic if ingested — keep out of reach of pets and children.
- 🪴 Pot size & feature: Supplied in a 5″ Premium Self-watering Pot (virgin plastic) — ideal for beginners because it provides a water reservoir and reduces watering errors.
Why the self-watering square pot matters
The included 5″ Premium Self-watering Pot stores just enough water to feed the plant between checkups, giving you peace of mind on busy weeks or short trips. Virgin plastic ensures durability for safe live plant delivery — sturdy for transit and display.
Where it looks best
- Home: Living room corners, console tables, and bedroom nooks — adds bold color and texture.
- Office: Desk corners, reception desks, meeting rooms — elevates the workspace without demanding daily care.
- Balcony: Shaded balconies thrive — protect from heavy rain and direct noon sun.
Simple 3-step weekly routine
- Check the soil with your finger; water only if the top 1–2 cm is dry.
- Rotate the pot weekly for even growth and color exposure.
- Wipe leaves gently to remove dust and let the plant breathe.
Lifestyle story — a tiny mood upgrade
Place your Surekha croton plant by the window shelf and watch it cheer the room with jewel-toned leaves. It’s a small daily luxury — a splash of nature that lifts your morning coffee ritual and softens the workday glare.
FAQs — quick answers to common worries
