Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Can tolerate lower light, but growth will be slower and the leaves may be smaller.
  • Watering: The self-watering pot is your ally! Keep the reservoir filled. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. 1 Mist the plant regularly, especially in dry indoor environments. A pebble tray with water or a humidifier can also be beneficial.  
  • Temperature: Prefers average room temperatures (65-80°F / 18-27°C). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F / 13°C.
  • Soil: Well-draining potting mix. Our self-watering pot system provides excellent drainage.
  • Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced, liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring/summer). Reduce or eliminate fertilizing in winter.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the large leaves with a damp cloth periodically to remove dust and keep them looking there best. This also helps with photosynthesis.
  • Pruning: Prune to control size and shape, and to encourage bushier growth. You can propagate stem cuttings.
